for those not in the know, night witches were russian lady bombers who bombed the shit out of german lines in WW2. Thing is though, they had the oldest, noisiest, crappest planes in the entire world. The engines used to conk out halfway through their missions, so they had to climb out on the wings mid flight to restart the props. the planes were also so noisy that to stop germans from hearing them combing and starting up their anti aircraft guns, they’d climb up to a certain height, coast down to german positions, drop their bombs, restart their engines in midair, and get the fuck out of dodge.
their leader flew over 200 missions and was never captured.
how the fuck is this not taught in every single history class ever
According to Wikipedia, only 30 members of the regiment died in combat.
Jesus Christ, why did I not know this??
I like this sign; it reminds me of Placebo. Anyhow. This is what I wore yesterday. I got the tights at a Drag Queen store in Chicago.

Happy World Goth Day!!
Here’s a picture from our Goth and Metal wedding (we had 5 metal bands play at our reception) in 2008.The skirt of my dress was a huge full black tulle skirt. I changed into black horns, a red corset and black pants for the reception.
The pastor at our wedding was awesome. He had never met Goths and was so curious and happy about the whole thing, a true Christian! However, some of my husband’s extended family refused to attend due to their belief that us wearing black means we are going to Hell.
In fact, we recently received (five days ago) in the mail a letter from a family member warning us to stop wearing black (and we live hundreds of miles away from this person). This person told us there is no black clothing in Heaven. Wow. And here I thought outerspace was black, many animals in nature, beautiful gems and minerals, and so on. Yet, somehow God hates black clothing? How infantile!
World Goth Day is important to me because there is still so much ignorance and misunderstanding in the world. Subcultures should stick together and stick up for each other.
Amen.
The sisters of battle for the fucking win!
Yes! Sisters of Battle! So much fun to paint them too!
